In an effort to reduce accidents by developing "safety-minded" youth, Kansas Farm Bureau has sponsored a Safety Poster Program since 1950. Each year, youth in grades 1 through 6 participate statewide. Posters are judged at the county level with the first place poster from each of the three divisions submitted for judging at the state level. Judging criteria includes creativity, relevance to theme, clarity of message, and use of color.
2024 Awards:
County Level (Leavenworth County Farm Bureau)
1st place = $50, 2nd place = $20, 3rd place = $10
State Level (Kansas Farm Bureau)
1st place = $100, 2nd place = $75, 3rd place = $50
In addition, the teacher of each of the top three winners in all divisions (state level) will receive a $50 gift card to use to promote agriculture in their classroom.
